50 SHADES OF GREY.

Jul

Okay. So I heard all of this hype about 50 Shades--be it from talk shows, water cooler yammer, and Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. I thought, since the girls from Elvis think this book is hot (and those girls are muy caliente and very candid about sex) then it must be hot, right? I even bought the book at B&N saying to the clerk, "I guess I've gotta see what all the hype's about..." and to that she responded, "You'll be back buying books 2 and 3."

AUTHORS WHO SUCKED ME IN

Mar

 1.  ANNE RICE (Vamps and Witches, Baby!) In the 90's I read just about any Anne Rice book I could get my grungy (it’s a 90's thing) little fingers on. I couldn’t get enough of that naughty vampire Lestat. Was he ever up to any good? No, and I liked it that way. Obviously, my favorite in that series was The Vampire Lestat. And I loved the witches series, including one of my favorites, Lasher.

paranormal activity

Feb

ok, so this post isn't about writing, but another one of my passions--movies. this weekend we watched paranormal activity 3. naturally, it freaked me out.i absolutely hate movies about ghosts, demons, and the like and love  all the same. they scare the bejezus out of me, which isn't very difficult to do, by the way... i think the reason these flicks make me wee my pants, is because you can't see  the ghost or the demon, so who am i to say they're not real.which sparks my question: do you believe in ghosts?

THE GOOD, THE BAD (We don't need The Ugly...)

Feb
07

Okay, ladies. Today’s question is: Good Boy or Bad Boy?

Good Boy is the kind you’d like to bring home and meet the parents. Good Boy has a steady job; you’ll know he’ll provide, take care of you. Good Boy won’t cheat. Won’t lie. Good Boy will most likely remember your anniversary. He’ll never forget you hung the moon and stars and will probably smother you with the notion. Good Boy will definitely make you happy—if you let him.

after spoiling us immensely, mother nature has decided we were either ungrateful or ready to be committed for thinking it was somehow spring even though the calendar read january 2012.

yes, february is winter. no, we shouldn't demand sixty degrees in the middle of the Midwest, but--dang it!--it was sure wonderful while it lasted.

good-bye shorts. hello parkas.
